Lackey to the DL

John Lackey was placed on the 15 Day DL with an "elbow injury". This was really the only logical move to make. With his decreasing velocity a main issue in his poor performance, the Red Sox were able to "find" an "injury" and put Lackey out to pasture a bit. His contract is for too much money and too many years to just trade or release and the team really does not have any long term answer ready to go right now. Hopefully this time on the injured list will allow him to spend some time with his sick wife, clear his head and work on some things so that he can return to being the perfectly average pitcher we pay over $15 million to every year. Take your time down on the farm buddy, you've earned it.
